Separate the blank from the finished item
Your decorated-item quote includes more decisions than the garment alone: artwork preparation, print or embroidery method, placements, quantity and any agreed packing or delivery. A low advertised blank price does not tell you the completed cost of your order.
Give us a target per decorated item in USD if you have one, before tax and delivery. It is a planning target, not a promise of a particular garment or price. Leaving it blank is fine if you want help comparing options.
Everyday value: make the whole run work
For volunteer shirts, event tees and practical staff apparel, compare a straightforward style such as Gildan 5000 before upgrading by default. For blended polos, Harriton M265 is a useful uniform starting point. The right decision still includes fit, size coverage and the decoration required.
A smaller set of garment colors, a well-planned logo and sensible placements can make a brief easier to price. Ask what changes would reduce cost instead of stripping out the details that make the garment work for its wearer.
Retail feel: the garment is part of the message
For merchandise people will choose to wear, compare BELLA+CANVAS, Next Level Apparel and Comfort Colors. The specific styles differ in weight, cut and dye character; choosing a brand name alone does not establish the right fit.
For fleece, compare the actual hoodie: Gildan 18500, Independent SS4500 and Champion S700 have different constructions and brand cues. A recognizable label may make sense for one audience while another prefers a quieter blank and a distinctive design.
Performance and headwear are separate decisions
Compare performance tees and polos when the working conditions or company image call for them. The Team 365 TT11, adidas A230 and Devon & Jones DG20 give different starting points; their fabric constructions and decoration requirements should be part of the discussion.
For caps, Richardson 112 is an adjustable trucker, while Flexfit 6277 is a fitted stretch option with actual sizes to collect. A Sportsman SP12 beanie solves a different need again. The cheapest cap is not necessarily the one that fits your distribution plan.
Keep the comparison fair
Compare the same quantity per design, artwork, placements, garment sizes, deadline and delivery arrangement. Then ask what changes between the proposed options. Availability can vary by color and extended size, so the written quote should identify the actual style and scope.
Big Bear quotes orders from 72 pieces per design. Bring a preferred brand or ask for an everyday-value option and an upgrade to compare.
